About this guide
Base game guide. This page covers Auriza Side Tomb itself, not the neighbouring Auriza Hero’s Grave, the road beneath Leyndell’s eastern bridge, or the Draconic Tree Sentinel arena. Spoilers: this guide reveals the dungeon’s traps, hidden walls, boss and rewards.
Overview
Auriza Side Tomb is a small but unusually confusing catacomb in the Capital Outskirts, close to the eastern approach to Leyndell, Royal Capital. Its difficulty comes less from powerful enemies than from its repeated rooms, illusory walls and transporter chests. Several chests send the Tarnished between near-identical versions of the dungeon, so a conventional “follow the corridor to the boss” approach quickly becomes disorientating.
The tomb is entirely optional. Its principal reward is the Soldjars of Fortune Ashes, obtained from the Grave Warden Duelist, while exploration also yields crafting containers, a Perfumer’s Cookbook, upgrade materials and runes.
Location and boundaries
Auriza Side Tomb lies north of Auriza Hero’s Grave. From the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace, travel east towards the bridge leading to Leyndell. Pass beneath the bridge and follow the route as it bends north-west into the rocky ground. The entrance is close to the path and can be overlooked because the surrounding terrain, bridge and tomb entrances blend into the Capital Outskirts. A Runebear roams in the nearby woodland, but it is not part of the dungeon.
The name is easy to confuse with Auriza Hero’s Grave, which is a separate dungeon immediately to the south. The two locations do not share a map, boss, reward table or internal route. This guide includes only Auriza Side Tomb.
Included subareas
Auriza Side Tomb does not have named internal wings or separate selectable subareas. For practical purposes, it is best understood as three connected elements:
Included subareas
| Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Entrance and Grace section | the opening stairs, boss-door approach and first transporter route. |
| Duplicated catacomb sections | near-identical rooms linked by trapped chests and illusory walls. |
| Lever and boss section | the route that opens the fog door to the Grave Warden Duelist. |
Residents and enemies
There are no friendly NPCs, merchants, quest characters or permanent residents inside Auriza Side Tomb.
Named directory: enemies and bosses
The Imps are particularly dangerous in the dark rooms and around stair landings. Some attack from ledges or walls, while others throw pots from raised platforms. Small Living Jars may hide in shadows. The yellow-topped explosive jars detonate when killed, so avoid standing beside them or fighting several at once.
Note
If a chest takes you to the wrong-looking version of a room, return through the chest you came from, then use the chest behind the nearby illusory wall.
Walkthrough
1. Enter the tomb and note the boss door
Activate the Auriza Side Tomb Site of Grace immediately inside. Continue down the first stairs and you will see the sealed boss door. It cannot be opened yet, so treat this room as your central reference point.
From there, take the route leading deeper into the tomb. The first dark room contains small Living Jars. Lock on before attacking, as the lighting makes it easy to miss enemies against the walls. Continue through the lower rooms until you reach a chest at the end of a corridor.
2. Use the first transporter chest
Open the chest and allow the mist to transport you. This is not a normal treasure chest and does not simply return you to the entrance. You will arrive in a similar-looking section of the dungeon.
The safest way to avoid confusion is to memorise the following rule:
This loop is the intended way to move between the duplicated areas. Simply wandering through identical rooms can leave you circling indefinitely.
3. Search the imp rooms
In the next section, descend through the dark rooms and deal with the Imps beneath the stone platforms. One Imp drops from the platform ahead, while another attacks from the right. Search beneath the stairs for an additional Imp and Grave Glovewort [6].
Continue through the watery room and take the route beneath the stone platform. In the following room, one Imp waits for an ambush while another throws pots from above. Pull the lower enemy away from the ranged attacker before dealing with the elevated Imp.
4. Find the first illusory wall
An archway in the room contains an illusory wall. Roll into it to reveal a stairway. At the bottom are more upgrade materials and explosive Living Jars. Draw the jars up the stairs, then sprint past them and roll away before they detonate.
The chest in this hidden section is another transporter. It sends you to a ledge in the preceding room, where you can collect Golden Rune [7] from a corpse. If you fall from the ledge, use the chest route again rather than trying to improvise a jump back to the intended path.
5. Reach the large Living Jar
Continue through the upper platforms and deal with the Imps around the stairs. One waits above the wall, so check overhead before climbing.
Eventually you will reach a room containing a large Living Jar and an explosive jar. Stand towards the far side of the room and allow the explosive jar to damage the larger enemy if possible. After defeating the large Living Jar, collect:
The Ritual Pot is a permanent increase to the number of Ritual Pots you can carry, provided you have not already reached the relevant inventory limit.
6. Visit the second duplicated section
Return towards the illusory-wall room and use the chest at the bottom of the hidden stairway. This transports you to another balcony and then towards an enclosed room containing two large Living Jars.
The cookbook expands the recipes available for Perfumer-related crafting. It is one of the dungeon’s most useful rewards for characters who regularly use aromatic items.
Use the nearby chest to return to the balcony, then repeat the route through the transporter chest. This time you will reach the corresponding version of the enclosed room. The enemies here are explosive Living Jars rather than the same large jars encountered previously. Collect the second set of:
Climb the ladder in this section to reach the upper platform.
7. Pull the lever
At the top of the ladder is the dungeon lever. Pull it to open the previously sealed boss door. A Grave Glovewort [6] is also available near the lever platform.
After pulling the lever, use the nearby chest to return to the earlier section. Retrace the route towards the entrance, passing through the familiar stairs and rooms. The boss door near the Site of Grace is now open. Rest at the Grace before entering if you need to restore healing charges or FP.
8. Defeat the Grave Warden Duelist
The Grave Warden Duelist uses two large hammers and fights aggressively at close range. The boss is accompanied by small Living Jars, including explosive variants.
The Living Jars are the main complication. If left alive, they can interrupt healing, block movement and cause explosive damage while the Duelist attacks. Once they are gone, the fight is a much more conventional Grave Warden encounter.
Defeating the boss awards Soldjars of Fortune Ashes. These Spirit Ashes summon jar-based allies and are the dungeon’s signature reward.
8. Defeat the Grave Warden Duelist: A reliable order of operations is
- 01Enter and immediately create distance from the Duelist.
- 02Kill the small jars before committing to the boss.
- 03Avoid standing near yellow-topped jars when they are close to death.
- 04Circle around the Duelist rather than repeatedly backing away.
- 05Dodge diagonally into or behind hammer swings to reach the boss’s flank.
- 06Use the room’s space to punish the Duelist after its longer attack strings.
Post-boss exploration
The dungeon has additional loot beyond the boss route. If you want to clear the area completely, continue through the transporter-chest sequence after defeating the Duelist.
From the boss-door area, return through the rooms with the small jars and follow the route back towards the illusory-wall section. Use the chest there to reach the balcony and continue through the upper passage and ladder route. A later room contains a large Living Jar, a Ritual Pot and a Smithing Stone [5] according to the dungeon’s item listings and walkthrough references.
Because the rooms are duplicated, the exact visual arrangement can seem inconsistent if a chest has taken you to the alternate version. If the expected item or enemy is not present, return through the transporter chest and repeat the balcony route. The difference is a deliberate part of the dungeon’s layout rather than a randomised encounter system.
Items and collectibles directory
The following named rewards are associated with Auriza Side Tomb.
Fixed items
The dungeon also contains several additional Grave Glovewort pickups and the item distribution may be described slightly differently by walkthroughs depending on whether they count each duplicated section separately. The repeated rooms are fixed, not procedurally generated, but the route used to reach an item can vary according to which transporter chest was activated first.

Hazards and secrets
Transporter chests
The chests are the dungeon’s defining hazard. They do not merely conceal treasure: they relocate the player between related sections. If you become lost, retrace your route to the most recent chest and use the illusory-wall connection rather than exploring randomly.
Illusory walls
The hidden walls are not just optional shortcuts. At least one is central to reaching the correct chest sequence and recovering from the dungeon’s duplicated layouts.
Explosive Living Jars
Explosive jars can damage nearby enemies as well as the player. Use that behaviour against large Living Jars, but do not remain beside them when their death animation begins.
Dark ambushes
The Imps favour ceilings, walls, corners and the undersides of stairs. Lock-on is useful, but also raise the camera and check the room vertically before moving across a platform.
Lore and interpretation
Auriza Side Tomb has no named NPC dialogue, questline or explicit item description tying it to a larger narrative event. Its strongest thematic identity comes from the combination of burial architecture, grave plants, Imps and Living Jars. The dungeon’s boss is a Grave Warden Duelist, while its most distinctive enemies are the jars, making the location feel like a burial site that has been overtaken or repurposed by animated vessels.
Any deeper connection between this tomb and Auriza Hero’s Grave should be treated as environmental interpretation rather than confirmed story text. The two locations are neighbours and share the “Auriza” name, but they remain separate dungeons with different layouts and bosses.
