Overview
Laskyar Ruins is a partially submerged settlement in the southern lake of Liurnia of the Lakes. It is one of the first major landmarks many players reach after leaving Stormveil Castle or entering Liurnia by the cliffside route. The ruins are not a dungeon in the traditional sense. Instead, they form a compact open-world combat area containing a Site of Grace, several valuable early-Liurnia pickups, a basement chest, a Royal Revenant encounter and a Sending Gate connected to the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
The ruins also sit beside one of Liurnia’s most useful navigation points: the stele containing Map: Liurnia, East. The map stele is nearby on the road through the flooded lake, but it should be treated as a separate map landmark rather than as part of the ruins themselves.
Separate neighbouring locations
These locations are close to Laskyar Ruins but should not be merged into the same area entry:
This distinction matters when following a regional checklist. For example, the eastern Liurnia map fragment is often described as being “at Laskyar Ruins” because the stele stands immediately beside the route through the area. The fragment is formally a separate map landmark, however. The map is found by the road in the middle of Laskyar’s surrounding lake region.

Separate neighbouring locations
From the Limgrave side
The most natural early-game route is through Stormveil Castle or the alternate cliffside path that bypasses the castle. Once in Liurnia, descend towards the flooded lake and follow the broad southern route. The ruins lie north-west of the Liurnia Lake Shore area and south-east of the more developed Academy-side portions of Liurnia.
If you have not yet found the regional map, look for the stone map stele beside the road. Collecting Map: Liurnia, East makes the lake’s roads and landmarks much easier to interpret and permanently reveals that portion of the world map.
From Liurnia Lake Shore
This approach is practical because it lets you establish the Site of Grace before fighting the more dangerous enemies. The lake is open enough for Torrent, and mounted movement is useful for reaching the map stele or disengaging from a Royal Revenant.
From Liurnia Lake Shore: steps
- 01Start at the Liurnia Lake Shore area.
- 02Ride north-west through the shallow lake.
- 03Watch for the broken walls and raised stonework of the ruins.
- 04Activate the Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace on the south-eastern side of the complex.
- 05Return to the nearby road if you still need Map: Liurnia, East.
- 06Explore the northern structures before using the Sending Gate.
From Scenic Isle or the northern lake
Laskyar Ruins can also be reached from the north-western side of the lake. This route is useful if you have already visited Scenic Isle, spoken with Patches there, or are travelling between the lake’s central locations and Academy Gate Town.
From the southern plateau
The ruins can be reached soon after descending from the south-western Liurnia plateau into the lake. The area is therefore available very early, with no boss, key item or story event required merely to enter it.
---
Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace
The Site of Grace is located on the south-eastern side of the ruin cluster. Activate it before exploring. Apart from providing a respawn point, it gives you a convenient fast-travel destination for several nearby errands.
Named directory
Central gazebo and Sending Gate
A raised gazebo stands near the middle of the ruins. Inside it is a Sending Gate, a fixed teleportation device that transports the player to the vicinity of the South Raya Lucaria Gate.
The gate is valuable as a shortcut. It avoids much of the lake journey between southern Liurnia and the Academy approach. It does not replace the Academy’s entry requirements, however. Reaching the South Raya Lucaria Gate is not the same as being able to pass through the magical seal into the Academy. You still need the appropriate Academy Glintstone Key to enter Raya Lucaria.
The gate is also useful as a scouting tool. Players can use it to reach the Academy-side gate area, activate or approach nearby landmarks and then return to Laskyar Ruins through fast travel if necessary.
Basement room
Stairs in the north-western part of the ruins lead down to a small basement room. The room contains a chest holding the Wraith Calling Bell.
The basement is easy to miss because it is not presented as a separate dungeon entrance. Look for the stairs descending among the broken walls rather than assuming that every ruin structure is inaccessible.
Northern arches
The northern structures contain the Ritual Pot pickup. It is placed against a wall behind the arches, near the broken masonry. The area is guarded by Revenant Followers, so the item is not entirely free to collect unless you move quickly or use stealth.
---
Revenant Followers
Revenant Followers occupy the broken buildings and approaches around the gazebo. They are lesser members of the same broad enemy family as the Royal Revenant. Their presence makes the ruins more dangerous than the open layout initially suggests, especially if several enemies notice you at once.
They can emerge from cover around the walls and may attack while you are trying to loot corpses. Clearing the northern structures first is generally safer than rushing directly to the centre.
Royal Revenant
The Royal Revenant is the principal threat in Laskyar Ruins. It appears among the ruin structures near the central and northern sections. It is not a named boss encounter, and the location has no fog-wall boss arena, but the enemy is much more dangerous than the ordinary followers.
For a new Liurnia character, the Royal Revenant can kill you before you have time to recover from the first attack. It is entirely reasonable to collect the easier items, rest at the Site of Grace and return with stronger equipment.
Practical countermeasures
The most dependable countermeasure is healing with a healing incantation when you can create distance. Revenants are particularly vulnerable to healing effects, which can deal heavy damage to them and stagger them. This makes healing spells much more than a survival tool in this encounter.
If you do not have a suitable incantation:
No named boss is recorded for Laskyar Ruins. The Royal Revenant is a strong field enemy, not a conventional dungeon boss.
---
The following directory covers the fixed, named rewards and materials associated with the ruin complex. It does not include every possible enemy drop.
Key items and permanent discoveries
The Wraith Calling Bell is a usable item, not a spellbook or crafting cookbook. It summons hostile-looking wraith projectiles without consuming FP, although it uses stamina. It is found in a chest in the basement room. Game8 places the chest beyond the north-western stairs, while other walkthroughs describe the same basement route in more detail.
Key items and permanent discoveries
| Item | Where to find it | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ritual Pot | Northern section, behind the arches and against a wall | Increases the number of crafted ritual pots available |
| Wraith Calling Bell | Chest in the basement room reached by stairs | Allows the player to craft and use Wraith Calling Bell-related sorcery? See note below |
| Glintstone Craftsman’s Cookbook [2] | Near the Site of Grace | Expands the player’s crafting recipes |
| Golden Rune [3] | On a corpse in the ruin structures | Fixed consumable rune |
| Smithing Stone [3] | Near the central gazebo and surrounding ruins | Fixed weapon-upgrade material |
| Map: Liurnia, East | Map stele by the nearby road | Adjacent regional landmark, not part of the ruin buildings |
Crafting materials
Trina’s Lilies are found among the western and northern portions of the ruins. The fixed pickups are limited, while wider Liurnia exploration provides additional opportunities to collect the plant elsewhere.
Bloodrose is also listed among the materials associated with the location. Material availability should be distinguished from guaranteed loot: a crafting material appearing in an area’s item directory does not necessarily mean that every plant or corpse yields the same quantity on every visit.
The location’s commonly recorded notable loot includes the Ritual Pot, Smithing Stone [3], Golden Rune [3], Glintstone Craftsman’s Cookbook [2] and the eastern Liurnia map fragment.
---
This route prioritises safety and reduces the chance of being surrounded.
Route A: Safe first visit
- 01Ride into Liurnia from the southern approach.
- 02Find and activate Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace.
- 03Collect Glintstone Craftsman’s Cookbook [2] near the grace.
- 04Return to the road and collect Map: Liurnia, East if you have not already done so.
- 05Circle around the outside of the ruins rather than entering directly through the gazebo.
- 06Enter the northern structures and collect the Ritual Pot.
- 07Search the rear of the ruin buildings for the Golden Rune [3].
- 08Locate the stairs to the basement.
- 09Open the chest containing the Wraith Calling Bell.
- 10Collect the nearby Smithing Stone [3].
- 11Activate the Sending Gate only when you are ready to explore the Academy approach.
- 12Return to the Site of Grace before making another pass for missed plants or enemy drops.
Route B: Fast shortcut to Raya Lucaria
The gate is best treated as a transport link rather than as a complete entrance to Raya Lucaria. It moves you to the academy’s southern approach, but the Academy itself remains a separate major location with its own requirements and boundaries.
---
Laskyar Ruins is a useful junction because several important Liurnia routes meet around it.
Route B: Fast shortcut to Raya Lucaria: steps
- 01Activate the Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace.
- 02Ride to the central gazebo.
- 03Use the Sending Gate.
- 04Explore the South Raya Lucaria Gate area.
- 05If you have the Academy Glintstone Key, proceed through the Academy gate.
- 06If you do not have the key, mark the location and return later.
Liurnia Lake Shore
This is the principal southern approach. It provides access to the lake and is usually the first major grace-to-grace route used when travelling towards Laskyar Ruins.
Map: Liurnia, East
The eastern Liurnia map fragment is placed near the road through the lake, close to Laskyar Ruins. It should be collected early because the southern lake’s shallow water and broken architecture make navigation difficult without a revealed map.
Scenic Isle
Scenic Isle lies north-west of Laskyar Ruins. It is associated with Patches and acts as another small travel stop in the lake. It is not a subarea of Laskyar Ruins.
Academy Gate Town
Academy Gate Town lies further north. The route from Laskyar Ruins towards the town crosses flooded ruins and open water. Academy Gate Town has its own Site of Grace, enemies and loot.
Purified Ruins
Purified Ruins are to the east and are a separate ruined settlement. They should not be combined with Laskyar Ruins merely because both are partially submerged and lie in the same southern Liurnia travel corridor.
Lakeside Crystal Cave
This cave is west of the southern lake routes and leads towards the area associated with Latenna. It is a separate cave dungeon with its own internal layout and boss encounter.
South Raya Lucaria Gate
The Sending Gate in Laskyar Ruins provides a direct connection to this location. The gate makes Laskyar Ruins strategically important even after its local loot has been collected.
---
NPCs
No permanent NPC, merchant or quest-giver is stationed inside Laskyar Ruins.
The ruins may be mentioned while travelling through Liurnia-related quest routes, but nearby characters such as Patches, Rya, Blackguard Big Boggart and Latenna belong to other named locations. They should not be listed as residents of Laskyar Ruins.
Factions
There is no confirmed faction headquarters, patrol organisation or named military garrison inside the ruins. The enemies present are Revenant-type creatures and should not be treated as a conventional faction occupying the settlement.
Progression changes and missability
The core geography and fixed loot of Laskyar Ruins are not tied to a major permanent world-state transformation. You can normally visit the ruins at any stage of the base game.
The main progression-related point is the Academy connection:
As with other open-world locations, enemy placement and accessibility can be affected temporarily by an active encounter or by resetting the area, but there is no verified Laskyar-specific evacuation or replacement state that changes the ruins into a different location.
---
The Royal Revenant ambush
The largest practical hazard is assuming that the ruins are harmless because they have no dungeon fog wall. The Royal Revenant can appear among the same broken structures that contain ordinary loot, turning a routine pickup into a close-range ambush.
Approach the central gazebo carefully, keep open ground behind you and avoid fighting with your back against the submerged walls.
The basement is easy to overlook
The Wraith Calling Bell chest is not in a visibly marked dungeon. Search the north-western ruin structures for stairs leading down. If you leave without checking the lower room, you may complete the area while missing one of its most distinctive rewards.
The map stele is nearby but separate
Players often remember the map as being “inside Laskyar Ruins”. It is actually found beside the nearby road. If you are using a location checklist, record it under Map: Liurnia, East, not as a duplicate Laskyar Ruins chest.
The Sending Gate is not the Academy entrance
Using the portal can create confusion because it places you near Raya Lucaria. It does not remove the need for the Academy Glintstone Key. Treat the portal as a shortcut to the southern Academy gate rather than as a free entrance.
---
Laskyar Ruins contributes more through environmental atmosphere than through explicit dialogue. The settlement is one of several Liurnian places where old stone structures have been overwhelmed by the lake. Its broken arches and partially submerged buildings reinforce the wider regional image of Liurnia as a land shaped by water, collapse and the remnants of older civilisations.
The connection between the ruins and Raya Lucaria is also notable. The Sending Gate implies that the Academy region was linked by a network of magical or engineered transport points. Laskyar is not presented as an Academy outpost, and no Academy officials are stationed there, but the portal gives the ruins a functional relationship with the Academy’s southern approach.
The Revenants provide a more sinister contrast. Their presence turns a travel landmark into a place of sudden violence. The ruined settlement is not merely abandoned scenery, because its collapsed spaces still conceal hostile supernatural creatures and useful remains.
These interpretations are environmental readings rather than confirmed historical statements. The game does not provide a full written account of Laskyar’s former inhabitants or the precise purpose of every building.

Is Laskyar Ruins a dungeon?
No. It is an open-world ruin cluster with a Site of Grace. Its basement is a small interior room, but there is no separate dungeon map or named boss arena.
Is there a boss at Laskyar Ruins?
There is no named boss. The main encounter is a Royal Revenant, supported by Revenant Followers. It is a difficult field encounter rather than a conventional boss fight.
Where is the Wraith Calling Bell?
Go into the north-western part of the ruins and find the stairs descending to a basement room. The bell is inside a chest there.
Where is the Ritual Pot?
Search the northern ruin structures. It is placed behind the arches, against a wall, near the area occupied by Revenant Followers.
Can Laskyar Ruins take me inside Raya Lucaria?
The Sending Gate takes you to the South Raya Lucaria Gate area. You still need the Academy Glintstone Key to enter the Academy itself.
Is the Liurnia East map inside the ruins?
No. The map stele is immediately nearby on the road through the lake. It is closely associated with the ruins for route-planning purposes, but it is a separate map landmark.
Does Laskyar Ruins contain a merchant?
No merchant or permanent NPC is verified inside the ruin complex. Nearby merchants and quest characters belong to other Liurnia locations.
